The European Union approached me to design and develop several institution websites. Each government websites has specific requirements in terms of policies that need to be highlighted. One website is about the EU funding of Chinese innovation projects. Another one is about the Competition cooperation policies with Asian countries. The last one is about the sustainability of Free Trade Areas negotiations between the EU and Philippines, Malaysia and Indonesia.

Usually such websites have a dull design, the information is hard to find and are rarely responsive. So the main challenge of these website is to find an engaging and creative way to visualize data. Furthermore, each government website must handle complex databases of PDF documentation.

Outcomes of the project

The China Innovation Funding website is topping the search engine results pages. As an SEO expert, I have optimized more than 50 pages with relevant keywords. The website supports a multilingual filterable database of policies. Most importantly after imparting a training, it is easy for my client to update the website.

The Competition Cooperation website has an interactive event and workshop calendar. It also features a sortable database of documents. The client can easily upload new PowerPoint presentations or pdf.

The three Sustainability Impact Assessment (SIA) websites have been launched simultaneously. They all feature a filterable news feed and event calendar. There is also an option to browse through the uploaded documentation.

One of the most important challenge for me when I have to work on complex projects is to simplify the back-end so that my clients can have full ownership of the website. All these websites are easy to edit from their side.
